2014 Tournament Championship Games

July 18, 2014

The JGSL 2014 Post Season Tournament championship games were full of excitement again last night. The most exciting event of all was in the 12U Division where the Rocky Top Farms team coached by Matt Steffens, who came in last place during the regular season, won the 12U Division Post Season Tournament championship game by defeating the #3 Seed T Wayne Lewis coached by Chad Balance. For the second night in a row Olivia Spanley pitched outstanding with Audrey Steffens coming in to relieve her late in the game to secure a 7-4 victory.

The 10U Division Post Season Tournament championship game was a low-scoring hard-fought battle. In the end it was Carnell's Garage Coached by Jim Burnett who came out on top with a 2-1 victory over Reg. Primary Care, coached by John Slattery. The key to Carnell's Garage success was mainly due to the fantastic duo pitching of Miranda Carnell & Kadi Dohogne.

The 14U Division championship game matched up Carnell's Garage Coached by Tiffany Zeilenga against Seabaugh Appraisal coached by Amanda Farmer.  Both of these teams have played some very close and exciting games during the regular season and the championship game was no different.  Carnell's Garage was able to hold off a late rally by Seabaugh Appraisal to come away with the victory.

The 18U Division championship game was no disappointment either when The Book Rack coached by John Hendricks went up against Bilfinger Industrial Services Coached by Wayne Walley. Down by a run in the bottom of the 5th inning Bilfinger Industrial Services Chelsea Drum would drive in Kaci McCuanahan to tie the game, a few batters later Kailey Boyer hit a single through the left side to drive in Chelsea Drum and secure the victory. Boyer also pitched a gem of a game, pitching 6 innings and striking out 6 batters for the 8-5 victory.

Although the 2014 JGSL Season had some highs and lows with more than normal rainouts and makeup games, fortunately we all made it through and ended the season with some of the most exciting and enjoyable games in a long time.

The JGSL would like to send out a special thanks to our Sponsors, Parents, Coaches, Players and Fans; thank you for everything you do, the 2014 JGSL Season would not have been the success it was without you! Thanks in advance for continuing to be a part of Jackson Girls Softball League as we build toward an even better year in 2015.

The FINAL standings of ALL divisions have been posted.
Also if you need a copy of the Scoresheet there are two versions, Excel and PDF, on the Forms page.
